Southwest Bible College Staff

SWBC instructors bring good academics and practical ministry skills to the classroom. Our instructors blend their field experience with great Biblical studies creating a classroom environment that is both practical and academic. Here is a brief introduction to several of those teaching classes at SWBC.


Rev. Richard and Ellen Carlson

Richard and Ellen have served in pastoral ministry for more than 30 years. During this time, they personally planted and nurtured four churches in Southern California. Through his ministry, a number of young men and women have moved forward into full-time Christian service. Richard Carlson has also served as an advisor to a growing number of churches planted across the United States.

Mona Davies

Rev. Davies has served as an evangelist for 10 years, and is presently planting a church in Southern California. She has an MA in intercultural Studies, and is currently pursuing her DMin in Ministry.

Rev. Daniel Fick

Rev. Fick served in pastoral ministry for 20 years. In addition, he served for 8 years as the Dean of Seattle Bible College. At present, he serves as Director of Studies at Southwest Bible College. He has a BA in Religion and an MA in Theological Studies.

Dr. Paul Klahr

Dr. Klahr has served as a missionary to Japan for 16 years, and to the Philippine Islands for 13 years. As a direct result of his ministry in the Philippines, more than 60 churches have been established. A number of the churches now have several thousand congregants. Dr. Klahr has also served as a pastor in churches in the US. He has a BA in Theology and an MA and PhD in Philosophy.

Dr. Clifford Larson

Dr. Larson has served as a missionary to Uraguay for 17 years, as an adjunct professor at Fuller Seminary for 4 years, as a professor at "Seminario Biblicode Fe" in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 4 years and as a professor at "Instituto Biblico Iberoamerica" for 13 years. In addition, he has served as a pastor in churches in the US. He has a BA, MA and PhD in Theology.

Rev. Ken Schoening

Rev. Schoening has served in the ministry since 1980. He holds an AA Degree from Cuesta College, a BA in Religion from Southern California College, and an MA in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. For the past ten years he has served as the Senior Pastor at Westminster Christian Assembly in Westminster, CA.


Southwest Bible College - Board of Directors

The Board of Directors for Southwest Bible College is presently comprised of seven minister. Four are currently serving as the Senior Pastor in their churches. The others represent a variety of ministries.
The Board desires that the school provide ministry inter-denominationally, to assist those who are moving toward ministry. The College recognizes that the local church is the primary vehicle through which people move toward ministry. The college seeks to complement the work of the church by equipping students with Biblical studies resources and by assisting them to develop practical ministry skills.
